Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Presidents' Day, etc. Life goes on, busyness and laziness abound, out of my routine doesn't help a bit.

I had envisioned this website and blog to be a help for the church, for others considering the life and teachings of Jesus, and for my writing/soul-searching. But unless I get serious about doing so, whatever good that could be done will go undone.

A couple of years ago, due to the small size of the church and an ability to give much more to the ministry, we decided to cut where we could. One of the cuts was the phone service and internet to the study. To counteract that lack of "presence", we decided to develop this website.

Given too, humanly speaking, there is nothing about us that would appeal to someone searching for "church." We are small, so we can offer no programs (who would lead them). We have no "young, charismatic preachder" (only me). Our facility is small and located on a lot with easements and steep hill (hencd no room to build).

So if we were going to try to reach out, one way would be through the website. I so appreciate the brother who developed it for us, but I am so disappointed how I have wasted the opportunity it presents for teaching, encouraging, and informing.

I hope to spend some time thinking about this and utilize this for the advancement of God's kingdom. Karl Vaters in "The Grasshopper Myth" wrote (page 140)

"I want to use this website, not just to PROMOTE ministry, but to actually DO ministry. I want to put Sunday messages, articles, prayer partners, addiction recovery guidelines, salvation counselors and a host of other things I haven't even thought of yet on the website so that people from Denver to Dublin can be ministered to even if they never set foot in it {their building] or send a dollar to us.

"Our church building is small. Using a website just to get more people into this building is too small a vision because our building is too limited in how many people it can hold. Even if we built the biggest church building the world had ever seen it would be puny compared to the numbers of people we can reach on the

internet."

That's what I want to do. It's not about me, It's not supposed to be about FCCN. It's to be about exalting the name of Jesus and doing our part to help the world be full of the knowledge of the glory of the Lord.
